15 questions cosmetic surgery patients ask AI, and what answers them

A cosmetic surgery patient rarely calls first. They research quietly for weeks, typing questions into ChatGPT or Perplexity that they would never say out loud to a friend: cost, scars, risk, recovery. I scanned 15 real Indian cosmetic and plastic surgery clinic homepages against the exact 15 questions patients type, to see which ones an AI answer engine can actually read and cite.

Cosmetic and plastic surgery sits at the most private end of healthcare search. Nobody wants to ask a receptionist about scars or cost before they even know if they are a candidate, so the research happens alone, at night, inside an AI chat window. Whoever answers that first conversation gets the consultation booking later.

I ran 15 real Indian cosmetic and plastic surgery clinic homepages, based in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Chennai and a few multi city groups, through the same engine this site uses to grade every clinic I scan: readability score, structured data, page titles, headings and FAQ markup. The results were better than I expected on some fronts and worse on others.

Below are 15 real questions a cosmetic surgery patient types into an AI answer engine, from rhinoplasty cost to financing to scars, and for each one the specific fix, the exact schema field or heading change, that lets a clinic be the one the AI actually names.

The 15 questions, and the fix for each

rhinoplasty cost in mumbai

Most rhinoplasty pages describe technique and philosophy but never state a number, leaving cost buried in a PDF brochure or a WhatsApp only quote an answer engine cannot read. Put an honest price range in visible text under a dedicated Rhinoplasty heading, not a shared procedures page, and mirror the same figure in the offers.priceRange field of a MedicalProcedure schema entry. Add an FAQPage entry phrased exactly as patients ask it: how much does rhinoplasty cost.

If the price only lives in a PDF, it does not exist to the AI reading your page.

liposuction cost and which areas can be treated in delhi

List the actual areas liposuction treats (abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, chin) as plain text under their own heading rather than inside a gallery caption or an embedded video. Repeat the same list as an FAQPage entry answering the areas question directly, and give each area a line inside the MedicalProcedure schema so an answer engine can match the specific body part a patient typed.

A body part named only in a video is invisible to an AI reading HTML.

breast augmentation implant size guide bangalore

Sizing guidance almost always lives inside the consultation, never on the page, so there is nothing for an answer engine to cite. Add an honest FAQPage entry explaining that implant size depends on frame and goals, in plain factual language and without promising a specific look, and attach a Physician schema naming the operating surgeon with their MS or MCh qualification and medicalSpecialty.

An answer engine can only quote guidance you actually wrote down.

gynecomastia surgery cost gurgaon

Gynecomastia is frequently one paragraph inside a general 'body contouring' page with no heading of its own. Give it a dedicated heading and its own MedicalProcedure schema entry with offers.priceRange, then add an FAQPage entry phrased as patients ask it, cost included, so the answer stands on its own instead of being buried.

A procedure without its own heading is a procedure an AI cannot find.

is a tummy tuck safe for me chennai

Safety questions for a specific procedure deserve a specific, honest answer rather than a generic disclaimer page. Write a factual FAQPage entry on candidacy and general risk for abdominoplasty, tie it to a Physician schema showing the surgeon's board certification and medicalSpecialty, and avoid promising a result. That combination gives an answer engine a credentialed, citable source instead of a vague reassurance.

An honest, attributed answer beats a reassuring one with no name attached.

facelift before and after results hyderabad

Facelift before and after photos are usually uploaded with no alt text or caption, so an answer engine effectively sees a blank image. Write a real alt text description on each photo naming the procedure and a general timeframe, without claiming a specific outcome, and add the caption as visible text, not just as a file name.

A photo with no alt text is a result the AI cannot see, let alone cite.

what does a mommy makeover include pune

'Mommy makeover' pages often list the combined procedures in a single sentence with no structure. Break it into named component procedures, each with its own MedicalProcedure schema entry, and add an FAQPage entry spelling out exactly what is combined so an answer engine can answer in one sentence instead of guessing.

A combination procedure needs to be listed, not implied.

is liposuction safe what are the risks

Risk pages tend to either skip the topic or bury it inside a legal consent PDF. Write an honest FAQPage entry stating general risks in plain language without minimizing them, and pair it with a Physician schema showing board certification so the answer is attributed to a credentialed source rather than left floating.

An honest risk answer in text is more citable than a reassuring one hidden in a form.

breast augmentation recovery time how many days off work

Recovery timelines are searched constantly and documented rarely; most sites answer them only inside a downloadable aftercare PDF handed out after consultation. Put the honest recovery range directly under the procedure heading and repeat it as an FAQPage entry, phrased around days off work since that is how patients actually ask it.

If recovery time only exists in a PDF you email later, it does not exist to the AI answering the question first.

how to choose a board certified plastic surgeon in hyderabad

This is a credentials question, and most sites answer it with a logo image instead of text. Spell out the surgeon's board certification, MS or MCh qualification and medicalSpecialty inside a Physician schema, and restate it in a plain sentence on the page itself so the credential is readable text, not only a badge graphic.

A qualification shown only as a logo is a qualification the AI cannot read.

before and after results real patient photos not stock

Patients ask this because stock photography is common and hard to trust. Caption each set as real patient photos with consent, add honest alt text per image, and pair the gallery with an aggregateRating field tied to a real review count rather than an unverifiable star graphic, so the page carries evidence an answer engine can actually parse.

A rating with no review count behind it is not evidence, and neither is an uncaptioned photo.

does a tummy tuck leave visible scars mumbai

Scar questions deserve a direct answer, not a reassurance. Add an FAQPage entry that states factually how scarring is typically minimized and where the incision is usually placed, without claiming a scar free result, and give it its own heading instead of burying it inside a general FAQ block.

A vague reassurance is not an answer an AI engine will quote.

financing or emi options for cosmetic surgery gurgaon

Financing is usually a line mentioned only during a phone call or buried at the bottom of a contact form, invisible to a crawler. State the available EMI or financing options in visible text under their own heading, and add an FAQPage entry phrased as the transactional question patients type, since this is exactly the kind of question answer engines are asked to resolve.

A financing option mentioned only at the front desk does not exist before the patient calls.

non surgical vs surgical fat reduction which is better

Comparison questions need a comparison on the page, not two separate service pages a patient has to piece together. Add an FAQPage entry that honestly compares the two approaches (downtime, permanence, invasiveness) in plain text without declaring a universal winner, so the answer engine has a real comparison to cite instead of two disconnected pages.

If the comparison only exists in the patient's head after two visits, the AI cannot make it for them.

liposuction vs coolsculpting which is better pune

Same gap, one more comparison. Add a single FAQPage entry that lays out the honest tradeoffs (surgical versus non surgical, downtime, typical number of sessions) side by side, and link it from both procedure pages so whichever one the patient lands on, the comparison the AI needs is one click away.

Two procedure pages that never compare themselves are of no help to a patient choosing between them, or to the AI answering for them.

What I found scanning 15 cosmetic surgery sites

The median readability score across the 15 clinics was 87 out of 100, with a wide range from 29 to 98. Nine scored an A, five a B, and one an F. Structured data (schema markup) was present on 14 of the 15 sites, which makes it close to universal in this vertical and not the thing separating the readable clinics from the rest; the one clinic without it is also the lone F at 29.

The real gaps sit somewhere quieter. Only 7 of the 15 clinics have a clean, single page title tag; the other 8 do not. Only 10 of the 15 have one clear main heading; the remaining 5 have a missing or broken H1. And FAQPage markup, the exact schema type that answers questions like the ones above, is present on just 1 of the 15 sites. Fourteen of them have none.

That last number is the through line of this whole post. Every fix above leans on FAQPage entries and MedicalProcedure schema because that is precisely the gap in this vertical. If you want to generate valid FAQPage and MedicalProcedure JSON without hand coding it, the free schema generator tool builds both from a short form.

The pattern under all 15

Do not try to fix all 15 of these at once. Pick the one question closest to what your own patients actually ask at consultation, the cost question, the recovery question, whichever comes up every week, and fix that page first.

Then run your own site through the free Report Card to see your actual readability score, your grade, and which of these gaps (title tag, H1, FAQ markup) apply to you specifically, not to the vertical average.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need FAQPage schema if my clinic already ranks well on google

Ranking on Google and being cited inside an AI answer are different problems. FAQPage schema is how an answer engine identifies a question and answer pair on your page with confidence, and in this scan only 1 of 15 cosmetic surgery clinics had it. Ranking well does not mean you are readable to an AI.

Will putting a price range on my site scare patients away

A visible price range filters out patients who were never going to book anyway and builds trust with the ones who are seriously researching. It also happens to be the single fact an answer engine needs to cite you when someone asks about cost, which a PDF brochure cannot provide.

Is structured data even worth doing if 14 of 15 clinics already have it

Yes, because having schema and having the right schema are different things. Most of the 14 have basic LocalBusiness or MedicalOrganization markup, not the FAQPage and MedicalProcedure entries that actually answer patient questions, which is why FAQ markup alone sits at just 1 of 15.

How long does it realistically take to fix these gaps

A clean title tag and a single H1 are an afternoon of work. Writing 5 to 10 honest FAQPage entries around your most asked questions, cost, recovery, safety, financing, is closer to a focused day, and it is the highest leverage fix in this entire scan given how rare it still is.
