I scanned 16 Indian dietitian sites for AI visibility

I scan a lot of small business homepages for how well an AI can read them, and most verticals cluster somewhere between mediocre and rough. Dietitians and nutrition clinics broke that pattern. Across 16 sites in 8 Indian cities, 14 scored an A grade, one scored a B, one scored a C, and nobody scored a D or an F. The basics, structured data, crawler access, readable text, are essentially solved here. The one real gap left is FAQ schema, which is a strange thing to be missing given how many FAQ shaped questions a dietitian actually answers.

Dietitians top my cross vertical ranking

The median score across the 16 homepages is 91.5 out of 100, with a mean of 89.5. Scores ranged from 63 at the low end to a perfect 100 at the high end. Fourteen of the 16 sites scored an A (85 or above), one scored a B, one scored a C, and none scored a D or an F. That median ties dietitians for the very top of my running cross vertical ranking, level with immigration consultants, and ahead of every other vertical I have scanned so far, including law firms, gyms, hotels, restaurants, and general clinics.

My working explanation is that this is a solo, personal brand profession. Most of these sites belong to a single practicing dietitian who built their own site recently, often on a modern platform that bakes in structured data and clean markup by default, because their entire client pipeline depends on being found online. Compare that to the verticals scoring lowest in my scans, law firms and gyms, which tend to be older, more institutional sites where nobody owns the job of keeping the homepage technically current. When your income depends on Google, and increasingly on AI answers, the basics stop being optional.

Structured data is basically solved here

Fifteen of the 16 clinics publish JSON-LD structured data on their homepage. The single clinic without it scored 63, the lowest score in the whole sample and the only one below a B. In most verticals I scan, structured data is the line that separates the top half from the bottom half. Here it barely functions as a divide at all, because almost everyone already cleared it.

Structured data is how you hand an AI a labeled, machine readable version of who you are, what you do, and where you practice, instead of making it guess from prose. It matters most when it is rare, because it is what separates the sites an AI can parse confidently from the ones it has to interpret. Once 15 out of 16 sites in a vertical have it, it stops being a differentiator and becomes table stakes. The competitive question for dietitians has already moved past whether you have schema at all.

FAQ schema is the one real gap

Only 3 of the 16 clinics have FAQ schema on their homepage. That is the single clearest opportunity left in this vertical, and it is a striking one, because dietitians field some of the most FAQ shaped questions of any profession I scan: what to eat for PCOS, a diabetic diet plan, a thyroid friendly diet, vegetarian protein sources, how much weight you can realistically lose in a month. Every dietitian already answers versions of these questions for clients every week. FAQ schema is the exact structured format that lets an AI lift that answer directly and attribute it to the practice that gave it, instead of pulling a generic answer from somewhere else.

The remaining gaps are smaller but still worth fixing. Thirteen of the 16 sites have a single clean H1, and 11 of the 16 have a clean meta description. Fifteen of the 16 carry Open Graph tags. None of these are close to the size of the FAQ gap, but they are quick wins sitting right next to it.

The smaller gaps in the sample:

• FAQ schema: only 3 of 16 clinics, the biggest gap in the sample.

What to fix, in order

1. Add FAQ schema for the questions you already answer in consults: PCOS diets, diabetic diet plans, thyroid diets, vegetarian protein sources, realistic monthly weight loss.
2. Write one clean meta description per page instead of leaving it blank or duplicated.
3. Use a single, clear H1 that states who you are and who you help.
4. Add or complete Open Graph tags so links preview correctly when shared.
5. Run your own homepage through the free Report Card to see where you land against this sample.

Method and limits

I scanned 16 real dietitian and nutrition clinic homepages live on 8 August 2026, across 8 Indian cities: Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, and Delhi NCR. These are independent dietitians and nutrition practices, not hospital departments. Every score comes from the same engine that runs my free Report Card tool, and every number here is reported anonymously and only in aggregate; no clinic is named. This was homepage only, not a full site crawl, and the sample likely skews toward established personal brand practitioners who already rank well and were easy to find, so it probably overstates how strong the vertical looks for every small, less visible practice.
